A guide to the area

Finding the best PG in Sector 126, Noida.

We run three PG houses in Sector 126, so treat us as interested parties — but the advice below holds whichever house you end up choosing. Here is what the sector costs, what to check before you hand over a deposit, and where we honestly do and don't fit.

Why people look here specifically

Sector 126 sits on the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway, and almost everyone searching for a PG here is doing it for one of two reasons: Amity University, about a kilometre away in Sector 125, or the HCLTech SEZ campus, which is inside Sector 126 itself.

For transport, the honest position is that there is no metro station called Sector 126 — some listings imply otherwise. The nearest are Okhla Bird Sanctuary on the Magenta Line, roughly 2.4 km away, and Botanical Garden at about 2.8 km, which is where the Blue and Magenta lines interchange. Botanical Garden is the useful one: it puts most of Noida and South Delhi within a single change.

Practically, that means an auto or e-rickshaw to the metro is part of daily life here unless you walk or cycle to Amity. Factor that into your budget before you compare rents.

What it costs, by sharing type

Broad bands for a furnished, food-inclusive PG in and around Sector 126. Treat them as a sanity check: anything far below the band usually means food or electricity is billed separately, and anything far above should come with something visibly extra.

Triple sharing

₹8,000 – ₹12,000 / month

Suits: First-year students and anyone optimising hard for cost.

Cheapest route into the sector. You trade privacy and study quiet for roughly half the rent of a single room.

Double sharing

₹11,000 – ₹18,000 / month

Suits: Most students, and professionals who are out most of the day.

The common middle. Workable for focused study if your roommate keeps similar hours — worth asking who you would be paired with.

Single sharing

₹18,000 – ₹25,000 / month

Suits: Working professionals, final-year students, anyone on calls or night shifts.

Roughly double a shared room. Worth it if you take calls from your room or keep hours that differ from everyone else's.

Twelve things to check before you pay a deposit

Ask these at every house you shortlist, ours included. Most disputes we hear about trace back to one of them going unasked.

  1. 01Is the rate all-inclusive?

Ask specifically whether food, electricity, water, housekeeping and Wi-Fi are inside the monthly rent or billed separately. A ₹9,000 room with a ₹3,500 mess bill and metered electricity is not a ₹9,000 room.

  2. 02What exactly is the deposit, and when do you get it back?

Get the amount, the refund timeline and the deductions in writing before you pay anything. This is the single most common dispute in PG living.

  3. 03What is the notice period?

One month is typical. Check whether there is a lock-in, and what happens if you leave mid-semester.

  4. 04Who is on site at 2 a.m.?

A phone number is not the same as a person. Ask whether a caretaker, guard or warden actually sleeps on the premises.

  5. 05How does the front door work?

Biometric or card entry is meaningfully different from a key that gets copied, or a latch anyone can open from outside.

  6. 06Where are the cameras, and who can see the footage?

Entrances and common areas, yes. Corridors outside rooms, ideally. Anywhere else is a red flag.

  7. 07See the actual room, not the show room.

Ask to see the specific room you would move into. Photos on any PG website, ours included, are of one room on one good day.

  8. 08Is there a working study setup?

A table and a chair you can sit at for three hours. A lot of listings count a bed and a stool as a study space.

  9. 09Test the Wi-Fi while you are standing in the room.

Not in the lobby. Run a speed test in the actual room, ideally in the evening when everyone is home.

  10. 10Eat a meal before you decide.

Time your visit for lunch or dinner. Any PG can describe its food well; far fewer will let you taste it first.

  11. 11Ask about guests and timings.

Visitor rules, gate timings and whether there is a curfew differ sharply between houses. Better to know now than in month two.

  12. 12Talk to someone already living there.

Thirty seconds with a current resident tells you more than any website. If you are not allowed to, ask why.

Where we fit

Serenity is a good fit
for some people, not all.

Choose us if

  • You want the rent to be the whole number — meals, amenities, housekeeping and security included, no brokerage.
  • You study at Amity or work at HCLTech and want to stay within a kilometre or two.
  • Security specifics matter to you: biometric entry, CCTV, a guard, and a dedicated warden in the girls' house.
  • You want a real desk and chair, because you actually work from your room.
  • You would rather visit, eat a meal and decide in person than book from photos.

Look elsewhere if

  • Your ceiling is under ₹10,000 a month. Our lowest rate is ₹10,000 for triple sharing at Ruby, and we would rather say so than waste your visit.
  • You want a self-cooking setup with no meal plan — our food is built into the rent and is not removable.
  • You need a private flat or an independent entrance. We run shared houses.
  • You want to book sight-unseen today. We would genuinely rather you came and looked first.
  • You need to be walking distance from a metro station. Nothing in Sector 126 is.
